I really believe this book does a great job of organizing the subject matter

I have been highlighting all the terms and definitions in this book so I can try to understand it. If you are a Psych student you will find this handy as well. These types of tests were used on me successfully about 40 years ago. But this is all updated of course. I really believe this book does a great job of organizing the information, and it is very easy to use this book providing you are serious about the subject matter. Of course I would like to have had more of a background before attempting to use this book, but it does a good job if you can read at a college level. I have taken some Psychology and this is all very familiar thankfully; otherwise I would be lost. This book is meant to complement actual testing.

I think these testing tools are under-utilized. There is a difference between the information people can observe and what we tell ourselves as the book points out. The only clinician who administered this type of texting to me was extremely helpful to me. This person has been featured in Psychology Today, and he is a cash-only doctor now.

"Concise yet Thorough" ...

As the text states, this is a "concise yet thorough review" of the Rorchach instrument. It is especially helpful for students since the text focuses exclusively on this instrument. (This is one volume in an extensive series inclusive of gifted assessment, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD assessment, etc. So know that these are intensely devoted to a single topic, making the reader markedly more knowledgable after the completion of each).

The text moves from the relatively simple to the technical. The student will appreciate the section devoted to the instrument's history and development. Though relatively brief, this section goes far as to recognize the key individuals responsible for creating, popularizing, and coding the instrument. Likewise, any student can appreciate the lay-out of the overall text. Gray "caution" boxes act as potent reminder to the reader. These are crucial aspects of the exam that are set-off to emphasize their importance. For instance, one "caution" box reminds the examiner to always weigh all factors of each examinee's life/circumstances in order to receive the best results. Likewise, there are "rapid reference" sections which provide information quickly and are also presented in easily-to-locate gray boxes. Additionally, brief self-exams are offered sporadically throughout the text, ensuring that the student is keeping up with the information. These small check-ins assist the weary reader (i.e. potentially overworked student) in knowing when information has not been processed or when further reviewed may be necessary.

For the student, there is invaluable information here from an expert in the field. Let the author guide you with her personal experiences and theoretical knowledge (both of which are included).

This text is indispensable for students who will be using the Rorschach instrument. It not only prepares the student for coding the exam but provides valuable historical background that many texts are inclined to disregard. Likewise, the personal experience of the author herself allow for unique, personal assistance.

An essential text for students. Highly recommended.

Disappointing

Although not a boring read at all, I was a little bit disappointed when I discovered the hidden personality behind the face of this "great" man. He is obviously a genius. He obviously knows how to read rugby, and do analysis like its nobody's business. On top of that he seems like he's also an excellent manager of people and has a great eye for talent.

The book however, does not discuss much of that at all. In fact, if you're hoping to learn anything about rugby coaching etc. then DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK, because you will be very disappointed.

Instead it seems like its a massive ramble of all Henry's accomplishments (there are quite a few of them to be fair). And the rest is dedicated to complaining about how he's been cheated out of pretty much every match he's ever lost. I'm not kidding. He spends about 3 chapters discussing how NZ was cheated out of the 2007 World Cup. In 2009 when NZ lost 3 games in a row to South Africa, he doesn't give credit to the Springboks at all. Instead he says that the rules of rugby were rubbish at the time, favoring defensive sides. When he couldn't use those excuses, then he lost "because of injuries to key players, or even that the training conditions provided by the opposing nation wasn't up to scratch." Not once did I see him say: "They figured us out. And were better than us on the day".

It's pretty sad that a man who's achieved so much in the field of rugby can't simply admit when he's been beaten. Really thought he had more character than that.

The mighty can stumble

Great insight into the soul of a man who looks as though he is tough as old boots but has a sensitive aspect, befitting teacher and coach. Not written with the polish of say Sir Clive Woodward or the humour of say Lawrence Dallaglio but an engrossing piece of work.

received an MS from the University of Dayton. She has taken postgraduate studies at Ohio State, West Virginia University, Kent State, and Ohio University. She was employed as a dental assistant/hygienist in oral surgery, orthodontics, and general practices before she became a dental assisting instructor and Diversified Cooperative Health Occupations coordinator at Belmont Career Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Along with teaching duties she chartered the National Honor Society participation of the vocational school and was advisor for the VICA opening and closing ceremony team to National competition representing the state of Ohio. Mrs. Dofka has retired from active teaching but maintains life membership in the Iota Lambda Sigma, professional vocational teaching fraternity, DANB dental assisting certification, and maintains retired status as dental hygienist in West Virginia. She is currently serving in consultation practice and advisory board capacity as well as volunteer activities.

AMAZING BOOK! Easily and correctly explains everything to you. I mean EVERYTHING. This is a must purchase if your in ANY type of dental school or class. I don't know how I'd pass anything with out this book. 1000% worth the money.

Poor for beginners

Like the previous reviewer stated, this book isn't for everyone. The text is very hard to read due to a lot of jargon that is unnecessary. Most terms aren't even explained until after they are used chapters before being defined. This book also does not correspond well with the online tests very well.

You would think that with a little determination and this book, you'd be able to ace all the online tests. This is not true, however, as this book fails to explain a majority of the test questions. (I actually rely on my instructors notes over the reading the book when necessary)

Don't get it unless you have to.

Short, but Extremely Motivational!

This book is sooooo good! Hugely motivational!

Only 56 pages in length, this book is little, but it is packed with so much inspiration and motivation! It's laid out so that you can read it over 21 days -- which studies show is the length of time it takes to change a habit. The book talks about things like goals, making changes, pushing past fear, overcoming obstacles, and so much more.

Honestly -- get yourself a copy of this! It's totally worth it! I plan to re-read my copy several times over, especially when I need a pick-me-up!

Great NAVLE review!

Very helpful when reviewing for the board examinations! Another 600 questions that touch on all aspects of veterinary medicine--pharmacology, diagnostics, small animal medicine, large animal medicine, etc. Comes with some basic game rules that make studying fun. I definitely recommend these to anyone preparing to take their NAVLE examinations!
