Unsatisfied

This book was a complete waste of money. For a student it is practically useless. The examples are few and far between and not completely done. The author skips from the first step to the last..without informing the student of the process. The author also assumes that the reader is a phenom when it comes to linear algebra. I learned absolutely nothing from this book !

Technical book in Mexico

The book arrives at excellent conditions. The pages are yellow due to the time of storage. The arrival time was too much but it is normal due to the postal service at Mexico. I think that it is a very good service to get a technical book at Mexico.

I will give this transaction 5 stars because the textbook was in great shape at a great price; however, shipping was slow as molasses. Attempts to reach the seller were unsuccessful until I contacted Amazon. Once I contacted Amazon to raise hell, the seller responded that day.

Great teacher helper

I read Silko's CEREMONY for the first time a year ago and began considering teaching it for my AP students. When I happened upon this Casebook, I bought it before even reading any reviews, knowing it would benefit us by exposing us to several different perspectives. And it has. The introduction is helpful in that it briefly outlines each of the essays in the book. I was a bit taken back when the author reveals that CEREMONY was once thought to be too difficult even for college students, but I felt that my high school students need to be exposed to this beautiful piece of literature, and this book has made the journey much easier. I have only shared some of the ideas expressed so far. Paula Gunn Allen's "Special Problems in Teaching Leslie Marmon Silko's CEREMONY" informed us non-Native Americans that some consider Silko's use of their stories objectionable. We gain much insight into the Native culture that helps us apprieciate even more the power and beauty of her book. Buy this now even if you aren't teaching the book. You might learn something, and maybe even change your perspective on it.

Not For Musicians!

I had wanted a book maybe titled "Genetics for Dummies", but having found none, I settled for this one. Genetics - granted - is a
VERY difficult subject, and I was hoping this might come just a little close to my hopes. No dice. This a a large, heavy TEXTBOOK on the subject, and it's taking me more than a WEEK (not reading everyday) to just get past the 2 or 3 page introduction..

Very complex subject (of course), and I would presume perfect for those who have a *little* background in basic biology. [Musician don't get biology courses in their degree programs.]

Small font, compact chapters and sub-chapters. I intend to stay with it a little longer, with hope that it will begin to 'clarify' soon. A fairly large book: 11" x 9" x 1-1/2" thick. Well illustrated.

Fantastic textbook on genetics for beginners

I am majoring in Psychology with little background on Genetics.

I purchased this book to prepare for the GRE Subject test (Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology) and i couldn't be more pleased with my order!

The explanations are easy to follow but the text covers ALL major aspects of Genetics (Classic & Modern). The illustrations are top notch.

I preferred this edition over the newer one because of the price tag. It's 50% cheaper and the ONLY difference is in the cosmetics of the pictures.

I bought this for my wifes 2012 Ford Escape. The book is well written for the most part, like all Haynes books are, however the electrical schematics diagrams are very vague (almost useless in fact).

I chose to return this because the picture on the front and back cover look exactly like the previous version. Only difference was they changed the years. Ford Escapes made a redesign in 2008 and I would like a manual that covered the range from 2008 - 2012. I am sure there are differences in the 2008 redesdign.

Beginning with the fundamental principles and moving on to more advanced aspects, it combines in a single comprehensive volume the basics of warp and weft knitting, fabric structures and products, the different types of machines, principles of production and terminology to provide an invaluable reference for textiles students, textile engineers and technicians involved in knitted garment design and manufacture.

Fundamental rules and principles are emphasised throughout. Aspects covered include flat, circular, full fashioned, hosiery, raschel, tricot and crochet production. Development of the various types of knitting machines, their actions and mechanisms as well as the construction, properties and end uses of the products which they manufacture are also included.

The book is indexed and referenced in detail and includes numerous labelled diagrams and photographs. Terminology is defined either according to The Textile Institute's terms and definitions or current usage in the industry and is supplemented where necessary by American or continental terminology. Although SI units and the tex yarn count system are explained and used in the text, other systems have also been employed wherever it has been considered that their usage is still important. A number of worked calculations are included to clarify the examples given.

Not meant for the handknitter

The book is all about machine knitting, and not the little knitting machines you have at home. It's about the enormous commercial knitting machines. So while you can glean some useful information, it is not at all what I expected and basically useless to me.

Not what I was looking for

More of a textbook than a machine knitting resource. I just purchased a knitting machine and was looking for a good reference book. I thought this might be a good choice but that's not what this book was meant to be. The only reason for the low rating is that it didn't fill the need. Not the books fault but I wouldn't want other new hobby machine knitters to make the same mistake.
