Excellent reference for rehab therapist

So far I am just ggetting through the Fracture Classification section. The book is complete, clear and very in-depth for the purposes of a canine rehab therapist. I am very pleased with the book so far and cannot wait to continue with it.

Good, affordable and comprehensive

The book is extremely thorough, and contains five parts. The 1ST part, on general principles and diagnosis, is useful as a reference. Parts 2 and 3 are dedicated to the front and hindlimbs respectively and are organized following an "anatomic" layout. Part 4 lumps mandible, maxilla and abnormal bone growth while Part 5 covers musculoskeletal pathologies. The book is extremely lacking in topics of a neuro-orthopedic nature. The book is nicely illustrated and is easy to follow.
This book is comprehensive but limited on its description of specific surgical procedures. If you think that this book will make you an orthopedic surgeon, you are stupid. This book will serve as a refresher, will allow you to convey proper information to clients or to help you make a decision on when (and why) to refer to a more qualified/boarded specialist. If I had to pick ONE orthopedic reference for the general clinician, this would be the book I would recommend.

Orthopedic bible

I bought this book when I graduated and I started using it when I did a small animal surgery internship. You can find allmost every type of fracture and a choice of different surgical procedures to fix the fracture you are confronted with. This book describes not only fractures, but several pathological disorders of joints and bones of dogs and cats. I think I use it at least twice a week and this book has never let me down. I would recommend this to every veterinarian who is seriously taking up orthopedic surgery in small animals.

As though I was with him

What an epic journey undertaken by the author - one which, through his extraordinary writing and photographs, I joined every step of the way. It was a real eye-opener on the numerous diverse cultures the imaginary line runs through in the tropics. I particularly enjoyed the depth of research into politics and economics as well as the insight into the cultures and peoples Mr Reeve met along the way. I really felt for the people of Africa and Australia and the effects climate change was bestowing on their lands. I'm looking forward to reading Equator next.

Hal Fischer (born 1950) grew up in Highland Park, Illinois. He arrived in San Francisco in 1975 to pursue an MA in photography at San Francisco State. Through his work as an art reviewer and photographer, he soon became�embedded in the Bay Area's artistic and intellectual scene. He continues to live and work in San Francisco.

One day in 1978 I was standing in Paperback Traffic on Castro Street and found this book. I turned to the guy standing next to me and said something like "Wow, this is fascinating." He said, "Thanks, I'm the author". I was skeptical, but I said "If you can prove it, I'll buy a copy." He took out his wallet and showed me his driver's license. I bought it. My partner's mother found it "interesting" but didn't want to lend it to her friends. It really is an accurate reflection of that moment in time, just before the epidemic changed everything.

Helen keeps them coming

There is no doubt that Helen Karol writes stories that have complex characters, twisting turning story lines, and hot hot hot scenes between her Dominant male characters and spirited female characters. Rick and Sara's story has been unfolding in books 1-3. We have gotten glimpses of the past and present. Book 4 takes you to the possibilities. When you are finished with 4 you are happy about how the story has developed and wanting more of Rick showing Sara her inner sub and what that will lead to with their budding relationship. Great read. Terrific story. Helen give us more of these two please...........and hurry.

This is Part 4 of a 4 Part book series and this book this not disappoint!

Rick and Sara's relationship continue to progress and they both admit to their feelings for one another. Rick is such a Dom - total Alpha male and the 'take control' type and he really loves Sara. Sara is upset with herself for waiting so long to realize her true feelings and love for Rick. This book is sooooo Hot and Steamy - I mean WOW!!!

My only complaint is I wanted more!! I hated to see the end of this series - this book series really reeled me in and I am so glad I stumbled across this author!

This part was great, but it was the shortest of the four, which was a little disappointing. I really would've enjoyed a bit more story, especially since this is the happily for now ending for these two characters. It seemed a lot longer than it was because about 50% of the book was extracts to other books.

I continue to love the characters and the tension between Sara and Rick - I'm totally rooting for the pair of them :)

A Likeable Book from a Successful Brand

Finally, a great social media marketing book from a brand's perspective. Jim and BJ have written an excellent, must-read story of triumph of a smaller business thanks to social media. There are lessons in her from both a strategic and tactical standpoint that companies of all sizes can apply. Two likeable thumbs up!

Franchise Greats Share Their Tasti Story!

Great book! Jim Amos and BJ Emerson discuss not just the use of social technology marketing strategies but how Tasti has used social technology to build the brand and engage their local communities. They knew Tasti had a cult like following due to an awesome product and Tasti took that following to the next level by listening and learning more about the needs of their customers. They share lessons on how they evolved the brand by using social media to interact and engage with their customers. As Jim says, "technology is the driving force but it's all about how to use it and connect with the consumers."

Tasti D-Lite has a great story. The book is a must read for anyone in franchising, or business ownership with the desire to build brand loyalty through transparency, relevancy, and brand stewardship.

A social media book with sincerity and heart? Yes it's true.

I was overjoyed to open my mailbox on Saturday afternoon to find that my autographed copy (go on, be jealous) of "The Tasti D-Lite Way" had arrived! That statement alone should be enough to tell you that social geekery courses through my veins.

You see, as a social media consultant, trainer, speaker and service provider, I've read my fair share of social media books. I read to further my knowledge of the field and keep abreast of current trends, I read to understand and gain insight on the perspectives of others who are working with the same media as I, and I read to learn real life stories of how businesses are innovating in the social space to raise the bar on the business-consumer relationship. The latter is harder to come by than the first two.

Well folks, having now completed "The Tasti D-Lite Way" I can assure you that this book is not like any other social media book that I have read - not only does it encapsulate content to satisfy the three reasons for which I would read such a book - it has something extra. This "something extra" is carried as an underlying theme, woven passionately throughout each chapter of the book. The secret sauce, my friends, is simply, heart.

After reading only the first paragraph it was immediately apparent to me that quotable and note-worthy points were going to be spilling out from the pages. So, I did what any social geek would do and devised a hashtag (#tastiway) and took to Twitter. I've never hashtweeted (as I like to call it) a book before, but I figured why the heck not? My intention was certainly not to spill the beans but to highlight some really great points and help others realize how important it would be for them to receive the real meat and potatoes by reading the entire book. If you'd like to read my Twitter summary search for #tastiway on Twitter... but you will be doing yourself a serious disservice if you substitute this for getting yourself a copy and reading "The Tasti D-Lite Way" from cover to cover.
